Word Zapper is a spelling software for grades 2 to 6. Word Zapper is published by Micrograms Software and is available in different configurations to fit your needs.
Use this new version of Word Zapper to boost spelling performance at your school!
As words roll along the conveyor belt, students checks their spellling and zap those which are misspelled. Points are scored for correct decisions. If the student gets 50 words completed making less than 10 errors along the way, a bonus round begins, drawing words from higher levels or from the challenge list. Higher level words, challenge words, higher speeds, and few or no errors score more points. It is possible to score over 100,000 points in a single game; but, it takes concentration, practice, and knowledge. Hmmm.
After each game, students practice spelling the words they missed; and missed words are added to each student's individual Focus List. Focus List words can be salted into the student's future games, and are removed when the student demonstrates recognition of the word's correct spelling.
From what we have seen and experienced around Micrograms as this new version of Word Zapper has been in its final stages of development, we think kids are going to enjoy the challenge of this program as much as we do; and we think they can't help but learn to spell more English words correctly almost by second nature.
Micrograms' Class File record keeping has been added to this new version of Word Zapper together with 3D graphics, new sound effects, additional program features, and greater action with the mouse.
Current All Time Best Scores circulate around the network, appearing onscreen as the students work. Student Focus Lists, overall performance data, and the seven supplied word lists can be printed out.
An OS X native (Jaguar, Panther, Tiger) version is available as well as, of course, Windows versions through XP & Windows 7.

Micrograms products compatible with Easy Track run under all the Windows operating systems listed above. Network versions can be served off of Windows 2008, 2003, 2000, NT, and Novell (>3.x) servers; or they can be run from the local hard drives of individual workstations and/or stand-alone machines. We offer nothing, at present, designed for Cytrix, NComputing environments, other terminal servers, or the "CD tower" environment. We offer no web-based products
Micrograms products compatible with Easy Track run on OS 10 native and on Intel Core 2 Duo machines with Rosetta. This means OS 10.2 thru OS 10.6. Snow Leopard initially requires that Rosetta be downloaded free from Apple. Network Macintosh program versions can be served off of Windows 2008, 2003, 2000, and Novell servers with Macintosh partitions, as well as from Macintosh machines running OS 10 Server. They also can be run from the local hard drives of individual workstations and/or stand-alone machines. Micrograms programs run fine in hardwired Macintosh computer labs, and they run better with newer versions of AirPort than with old.
Easy Track is designed to be easily updated from time to time. When new programs are released by Micrograms, Easy Track will be updated to accommodate them. Suggestions from users may be added to Easy Track, and if any issues are discovered regarding Easy Track's operation, updates can resolve the problems. So before you begin importing student names into the Easy Track management system, we strongly suggest you download Micrograms latest Easy Track update for free from www.micrograms.com.
