Item Description:
Stickybear Phonics 3 introduces sounding out words to students in grades K to 4. Stickybear Phonics 3 is published by Optimum Resource and is available in different configurations to fit your needs.
Optimum Resource, Inc. is proud to introduce the new version of our Stickybear Phonics Series, a comprehensive phonics-based multimedia reading program in three parts, Stickybear Phonics 1, 2, and 3. Combining video, audio, and animation, the Stickybear Phonics Series engages students as they learn to link letters and sounds and begin the adventure of reading.
Based on the most recent and respected research in reading, the series is designed to build knowledge by teaching the student to sound out words. Because reading requires speaking as well as listening skills, Stickybear Phonics encourages students to reproduce sounds as they are heard. Video of live actors provides a carefully modeled set of sounds and allows lip movement to be followed. This, combined with the animated reviews and rewards, makes for a complete and engaging learning experience.
The series begins with simple alphabet and letter recognition and progresses to full reading. The self-paced lessons include animated short stories and interactive on-screen activities. Review and practice are provided and the multi-modal activities hold the student’s attention. Using icons at the bottom of each screen the student may elect to review the last screen or any material that has been presented, select activities and stories that reinforce the lesson, or print workbook sheets.
Volume 3 begins with prefixes, continues to suffixes, and finishes with compound words. The stories, activities and reviews are increased in complexity and the student is reading full paragraphs by the end of the lessons.
Throughout the series, review and mastery activities are provided and the words and reading skills increase in level and complexity.
Each of the three volumes is available separately and can be used as a stand alone program. All volumes work together. A complete set of Lesson Plans with freely reproducible Supplemental Materials is provided with School Versions or higher
