Item Description:
Dancing Dinos teaches early math for grades 1 to 3. Dancing Dinos is published by Micrograms Software and is available in different configurations to fir your needs.
Dancing Dinos contains delightful animation rewards effective practice of early math facts and computation skills. The teacher can determine the kinds of problems presented or can provide students the latitude to select their own activities.
Basic facts practice with all four operations, or targeted practice of one or more operations can be selected. Addition and subtraction facts practice can be aimed at numbers 0-5, 6-10, or 11-18. The range of multiplication and division facts practice also can be specified or may be focused on any fact family 1-9.
In the computation section, 2 or 3 digit addition, subtraction, and/or multiplication problems can be chosen. If regrouping practice is selected, carrying and borrowing are displayed on-screen
Excellent, step-by-step tutorial help screens guide students through problems when mistakes are made. Elmo, Spike, and Roxie are always ready to put on a show for every set of ten problems solved.
Dancing Dinos motivates children in grades one, two, and three, to master basic facts and to practice and develop early math computation skills. Motivation is supplied by the intriguing animated dancing dinosaurs who perform whenever students complete a ten problem sequence of work.
Dancing Dinos provides help to students after two incorrect answers. Within the basic facts section of the program, correct answers are flashed, and entry of correct answers is required. Within the computation section of the program, an engaging help screen is provided which structures the computation step by step and flashes correct answers if students err. A somewhat frazzled baby dinosaur hatches when the help screen work is correctly completed, and the student is then required to work the problem correctly on the main screen. While doing computation, the student may request the help screen at any time by pressing the H key.
Many teachers have told us that youngsters love our dinosaurs. Dancing Dinos is a versatile and entertaining way to help students get the practice they need to fully master basic math facts and beginning computation. This program can give students control of their math practice sessions and encourage them to attempt new math challenges on their own. Gotta dance!
The program can be set by the teacher to allow students their continuing choice of the types of problems they wish to practice; or it can be set to allow only those kinds of practice which the teacher has chosen. Options include various combinations and ranges of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and/or division math facts; computation involving two or three digit addition and/or subtraction; and/or beginning multiplication. If students are allowed to explore, they can quickly establish how far their current skills extend.

Micrograms products compatible with Easy Track run under all the Windows operating systems listed above. Network versions can be served off of Windows 2008, 2003, 2000, NT, and Novell (>3.x) servers; or they can be run from the local hard drives of individual workstations and/or stand-alone machines. We offer nothing, at present, designed for Cytrix, NComputing environments, other terminal servers, or the "CD tower" environment. We offer no web-based products
Micrograms products compatible with Easy Track run on OS 10 native and on Intel Core 2 Duo machines with Rosetta. This means OS 10.2 thru OS 10.6. Snow Leopard initially requires that Rosetta be downloaded free from Apple. Network Macintosh program versions can be served off of Windows 2008, 2003, 2000, and Novell servers with Macintosh partitions, as well as from Macintosh machines running OS 10 Server. They also can be run from the local hard drives of individual workstations and/or stand-alone machines. Micrograms programs run fine in hardwired Macintosh computer labs, and they run better with newer versions of AirPort than with old.
