Item Description:

BBC Science Simulations 3 was developed in association with the BBC Science Clips TV series. These simulations provide elemenary students with the opportunity to select variables, control time and to view the results of their experiments as animations and/or dynamically generated tables, graphs and diagrams.

BBC Science Simulations 3 was designed to enhance science investigation skills for upper elementary students. Virtual experiments exploring varying topics such as plant growth and and electical circuits allow teachers and students to experience a wide range of phenomena in ways and at speeds that would be difficult to achieve in the classroom.

The "Questions" portion of the software includes ideas for exploration. Students can manipulate a variety of variables and instantly observe their effects. Students can access graphs and tables to clarify the results which provides a focus for interpretation and scientific explanation. Students can make direct comparisons by viewing two investigations simultaneously using the multi-simulation feature.
